O LORD GOD and Creator of us all,
look with kindness on the one people
of the United States of America,
and remember that orphaned nation,
O LORD, and Father of the fatherless,
and the one Republic that You raised
to stand forever in her defense.
Favor her, O God,
abide with her,
most especially during
these historic elections.
Be both her strength
and her stronghold;
a refuge from the darkness;
a sword against deception;
and a shield against war.
Bless all her servants, civil and religious,
most especially those candidates You picked out
and have placed in the forum of the people.
Strengthen them, O LORD,
and share with them Thy special grace,
to enable them be humble in victory
and magnanimous in defeat.
Reawaken in her Thy Spirit, O LORD
and the remembrance of Thy peace.
