#04 Advent 2008: Peace to All Men of Good Will

PEACE TO ALL MEN OF GOOD WILL.

Beloved friends and constant companions -
our poor world is needful of much repair:

Dark indeed are the times, terrible the past -
but we shall begin a labor of hope next year,
so let us rest in each of our sufficiency,
each of us bears a unique identity,
for each of our soul is distinct -
do not forget to pray - but do it with thy heart
more than anything else -
and from the secret of your own self within
discover the silence in you
that speaks with winged words,
and with bowed hearts,
be still and listen for truth that is more meaning than words
for things more substance than mass and space.

Persevere, persevere, persevere - pray.

You are what is your truth within -
so know your own soul - fill it with beauty,
fill it with hope, fill it with life,
fill it with light, and be thankful always,
store up your treasures in your heart of hearts
observing in all good things, great and small,
the movements of a greater and more wonderful design.

All things that come to existence,
is as a rising and falling from waters within -
for all things begin and end in the spirit,
be like this rising and falling, breathe in thy heart,
a breathing that is like a returning to God always.

Persevere, persevere, persevere - pray.

So will you know yourself - imperfectly, in exile time,
ever as you are in the remembrance of our LORD in eternity.

But as we travel together,
the horizons of our souls open up to new things,
so no one who yet exist in time
should stop in the act of their breathing within -
so pray - alone or with others, pray - near or far of mind or heart,
pray - at home, pray, while walking, pray - at work, pray -
when you become aware that your heart is not with God, pray -
and be joyful - for joy is the essence of prayer.

Wonder about the universe, wonder about great things,
wonder about noble things, wonder about the golden realms
of our LORD's heaven in eternity - and be joyful, be glad, be good -
for truly, truly, we are loved -
next year we shall begin a labor of hope.

Rest in your sufficiency.

Be at peace.
