On the Question of Peace x

SO VITAL indeed is the question of peace that nations entire, in the necessary and honorable quest for an answer, are willing to sacrifice so much of it's treasured sons and daughters along the course of this one hope.

For the answer to this question governs a nation's self-evident right to exist as itself.

This is true across all of human history.

So much sacred blood and noble toil have been shed and suffered through in the course of the ages upon the altar of freedom to obtain from this sacrifice of tears, the soul of a nation which is the light of its civilization.
---<--@

LET US CONSIDER, my honorable compatriot, the question of peace. It is obvious to our observation that most - if not all - of the nations of today have an urgent need for answers to this ageless question. It is also obvious to our remembrances that many nations of old have urgently sought for answers to this same question. In the larger context of this overwhelming commonality of need, therefore, let us think not that our own particular need as a nation in our own time and place and its inherent difficulties though common to our own experience is in any way an exception to this one rule: that every nation, of all times and places, in the course of its being itself must hope with only one hope - the hope of peace.

Hence, let us establish now in the opposite sense what a nation may never hope for in its own soul - war, war in the sense of its one paradigm whole. For this is the one and only sin that an entire nation can become guilty of and since the wages of sin is ever the same for all souls, a nation that is guilty of war in its soul shall in time perish in the desolation of war and the false peace which it has chosen for itself. No nation can establish its own sense of being itself through opposition without first creating within itself a common reality that is meaningful to the particular existence of its people. A nation that acquires a spirit of opposition (the spirit of opposition being the fundamental being of war) exclusively as a means to derive a sense of meaningful pursuit among other nations in the world becomes hollowed out inside being without its own soul; it proves constantly restless stirring with the stirrings of wars ambition and helpless against the darkness of war.

Therefore, the question of peace, most especially where it concerns emerging nations, is more than just the absence of conflict as peace is often times interpreted to be, it is a question that is existential to that civilization, concerning the one whole of the nation which includes all its generations in time and dimensional space. In this regard, expediency and particularity become insignificant when compared to the universality and absoluteness that is necessary in the consideration.

Briefly and as regards to the one peace of our nations;

Peace is original to our state. It can not be won in battle nor can peace ever be attained through war. Peace, as it concerns our nations, can only be re-established among the hearts of the people.

Peace is not the absence of conflict but the complete turning away from it. Peace where it is present in the people is the foundation upon which the generations of that nation may freely build the habitations, systems and institutions of sacred life that work together to advance and defend the common good which is the labor of Country itself: Country being the synthesis in time of the nation and the state.

Peace is not the appeasement of war as peace where it is present in the people is exactly the reason the noble military exists by commission of the state and on behalf of its nation. Force of arms is only meaningful where peace is present in the people as a means of defense.

Peace is neither particular to nor exclusive of anything within the whole of itself - it extends to all things within its own sphere of being. Peace is a good of the people therefore, it is a one whole truth. From the soul of man, peace exists as wholes upon greater wholes which are ascendant to the Almighty as well as aligned towards the purpose of all creation which is the restoration of itself as itself in the original form intended from the foundation of the world.

On the Peace of Jesus Christ

"PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid."

John 14: 27
---<--@

OUR MOST LOVING JESUS, owing to the great and profound Christian mystery of the Incarnation of the Word of God possesses a human soul and all human souls are capable of the virtue, hope.

And all hope is vested in exile time as a becoming, a sweet and joyful anticipation for all the saints of God as each of their own hopes in God wax gloriously or a growing sense of dread looming upon the souls of the willful and unrepentant as each of their own hopes in God wane
ignominiously.

Hope exerts a subtle and quiet presence in every calm moment in the now before each free and human choice is made and this virtue wax or wane in strength according to how much we share and express it, one with another, in good faith and common good will, primarily to our LORD and His unseen Church of the triumphant angels and saints who forever face the face of our LORD in the heaven of God's eternity, secondarily to the unseen necessitate Suffering Church in the void of the angels whose own hopes they have entrusted to those who obey and fear the LORD here on earth and thirdly to our own Militant Church here in exile time specifically as a calling to serve the needful elements of our Lord's poor communities among the nations of the one family of the nations of mankind.

All human souls are capable of hoping but the soul of our Savior owing to the Hypostatic Union of our Lord to the one Truth of the Godhead possesses a hope that encompasses and embraces all human hope - in fact, the hope of the Savior of mankind IS the fulfillment of all human hope.

Every true hope culminates in the glory of God which is it's natural terminus for the glory of God in all of creation, seen and unseen, IS the culmination of all hope and this fulfillment in Christ culminates the purpose of creation in the beginning as it originally was intended and therefore has the august and able power to bring us all into fruition at the new beginning at the end of all things - at the passing away of the heavens and the inhabited earth.

False hopes, they sink in the mire, carried by the descendant gravity of evil's consequence, they shall collapse with the turning into ashes of all evil things from within to become with Satan and the reprobates, that one singular regret of all of hell entire.

Our Lord while He walked this world with us possessed the vision of God in the entirety of His temporal servitude to mankind, our Lord could see as far into His soul with God or as near as He pleases and so it was not only at the Agony in the Garden that our Savior has had to face the truth about our sins and the one whole entirety it's consequences built up in the righteous wrath of the Father in eternity.

Our most loving, Jesus Christ, knew all of this from the time he was conceived but it was only in Gethsemane that our Savior has had to face it in that hour, when it's time had come.

God by His own nature does not possess hope, our LORD possesses in His most beneficent will the infinite power to deliver and to uphold, to strengthen and to fulfill in the Truth which is His Being. Our LORD is the provider of all human hope and this can now only become clearer to our souls who can now comprehend in Christ what the Father has revealed in the Holy Spirit through the mystery of the Incarnation of the Son.

The Peace of Jesus Christ is Christ's own hope here on earth, it is His own hope fulfilled and shared with us as our Savior's joy in His eternal vision of our own happiness with Him in the place He has gone ahead to prepare for us in the golden realms of the Father in heaven.

With us, who remain in God and in each other, our Lord's greeting of peace is ALREADY our own hopes fulfilled in and through Christ who IS our hope and when we say this to each other as one Church of the baptized and in good will with all of the righteous persons among the one family of the nations of mankind, we inherit through our Savior the power to give this hope unto others.

And we give this hope by becoming it, by being as our Father in Jesus Christ, by living to be one as God is one - and we shall do this with one love alone.

It is this upon this Peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that the charism of the apostolate is founded for it is through this Peace that the one Solidarity shall fulfill it's gift - on behalf of Jesus Christ, our All - in the one, ineffable Name of the one Triune Perfection for our Holy Mother Church as a blessing unto all mankind.

On Pope Pius XII and Catholic-Jewish Relations

OUR HOLY FATHER PIUS XII, of blessed memory, must be concerned.

Concerned not about his legacy which shall forever stand on its own truth, but concerned about the controversy that consumes our beloved Mother Church as regards to him and the dark reality that consumed much of his papacy during World War II, an issue which now weigh heavily on the mind and heart of our Holy Father Benedict XVI.

The issue of Catholic-Jewish relations is an issue of peace. It is an issue of very significant bearing, extremely important to me personally in my own heart, and also professionally as a professing, confessing, Roman Catholic layman here in the third Christian millennium.

All honor proceeds from allegiance to the truth. Without allegiance to the truth, honor is naught but a pretense to pride, hurting more than restoring virtue in the self as well as in others by way of sin and scandal.

Let me make it clear here and now that by first principle, I blame the Nazis completely, Hitler above all, for all the atrocities that was raised from hell at their diabolic beck and call.

Now, having said that, the rest is simply healing and healing is all about justice and justice IS restoration; restoration to the truth.

The honor of our Holy Father Pius XII and the right hurt of our elder brethren and sisters, the Jewish people, are both matters that pertain to our shared humanity. I do not see where they clash where bridges have really been built in the name of peace, and peace which is not an appeasement, an illusion, an outright deception or a segmentation of the one whole, but peace as a paradigm whole - peace being truth as itself alone.

As a Roman Catholic, I have a right to speak out on this issue - and so I shall.

If there is animus, then we must turn away. For war can only be starved out and if met headlong as in a charge shall turn the force of our own intentions, however noble, however high, against itself.

Let us be ever mindful that only our LORD can completely liberate us from this ancient bondage.

That is why we should build on the ageless Rock of our LORD, because when we stand on the foundation of our LORD's truth, bearing in our joy, the hope of our Savior's peace, war itself shall not withstand us but if we recklessly venture out and step into the mire outside of our Love, if we respond to the relentless taunts of the ancient enemy of our God and break ranks, thinking to meet Satan and his hosts head on, we shall find ourselves everywhere scattered, sinking, overrun and then finally defeated by war and war's ambition.

I agree with our Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI when he called for a time of contemplation, for he has opened up the space of our hope to prayer and contemplation and thereby, made room for our LORD's grace to act on both sides of the one side of the peace.

If this animus persists, then let us let it presist, all the while trusting that it is better not to harm each other and leave the truth of the matter to God who alone owns all that is true.

I would rather have peace with our brethren and sister Jews as well as our brethren and sister Muslims - and all honorable religions - than see our Holy Father Pius XII receive an honor that I know he himself will flatly refuse in his own lifetime were he be given this choice to either save the peace of our relationship with our brethren and sister Jews or attain to the veneration of the Catholic faithful as a canonized Saint.

As Holy Father Francis' prayer reminds us, "it is better to understand than be understood."

Better the peace that prospers the life of our shared humanity than a million titles and honors.

Better to endure than to be endured.
