Filipino

Who is a Filipino?
But the heart that lives
to love the Filipino
and the one Republic
of the Filipino people.

How is the Filipino?
But through faith that seeks
to find itself alive
in the eternal remembrance
of God and our people.

Where is the Filipino?
But in the will that accepts
the trust that embrace
our lives and our fortunes
together as one nation.

Why is the Filipino?
But with every dream that begins
ever like a single breath
to become our breathing together
of the many into one hope.

When is the Filipino?
But at every present rising
from the deep of eternity
in the every moment that breaks
upon the awakening reality
of the dawn of a new Philippines.

To the one Filipino Nation

REVOLUTION, how must we understand it, O my nation?
---<--@

LET US FIRST SEEK to know what revolution is not: Certain.

Time itself being so much fraught with uncertainty, like a chasm the depth of which no one knows, revolution yawns beneath the feet of those who seek to be defined by it.

It is like a throw of dice, entered only when the need is such that one must by destiny heed the call of random chance. And this need must be such great a need as to be placed upon its time by purposes that must transcend it, lest the will of the fight soon falter and fail, the faith of the people must burn that brightly, to set itself completely against the test.

This is why the People Power revolution of 1986 was such a great wonder.

It is a miracle of grace; our timeless pulling together for God and Country, and the measure of the quality of our people.

So let us remember People Power not as a falling apart but as a gathering together, in our hearts, in our lives, and in our times together as a one whole Filipino nation.

Let us not forget, my honorable compatriots, that to willingly surrender to chance is to court the Devil that we may from People Power learn to remember always the measure of our resolve to advance the cause of our one Republic, and to tempt never the Providence of the one Divine under Whose singular Standard of Truth the oppressed is liberated.

To my Brother and Sister Filipino Muslims

To my Brother and Sister Filipino Muslims

PEACE,
I salute you.

We are at a crossroads in time.

We stand at a point in history where no one segment of our shared humanity can no longer ignore the existence of the other. Therefore, the defining choice is presented to each heart; unite in the ascent of peace or descend with the gravity of war.

You must ever be mindful of your promise, my fellow Filipino compatriot. I will not see you wasted on empty dreams.

For each of you, my brother and sister Filipino Muslims, are a human being. Each of you are a one whole truth - beautiful for being by Beauty beheld - and precious to my eyes as every other human being who lives to honor the truth not with war and division but with peace and its ascent to the unity of the wholes.

The peace of Jesus Christ abide in the good will of those persons who keep to its truth regardless of war's lie; it's property is as the light regardless of the darkness which is the ambition of war.

Does it matter therefore, that I am a Christian - where peace is concerned what matters is that we are all human beings.

Do we need to draw lines upon the soil of our earth to know that there are lines drawn upon the love in our hearts? Can any love divided against itself ever serve the one will of our one LORD, our one Beautiful, our one Love. Nay, my beloved friend and constant companion, one peerless love for one peerless LORD: Love for love, that is the way - one love alone, a one whole and undivided truth - that is our mountain path.

Therefore, your homeland, my honorable Filipino compatriots, is my homeland. Our Liberty shall have but one standard alone.

We shall be ever mindful of each other's native human dignity.

You are a Muslim, my beloved friend and constant companion, then be a good Muslim. And just the same with me and with every human being who has ever lived and shall ever more live upon our one planet, let us produce the fruits of a good and honorable religion. Fruits which are edible unto all humanity and good for all time. Fruits that serve to prosper all of sacred life in this, our one Creator's one seen creation. For the glory of God is the realization of all human hopes.

Let us go and walk in Beauty and let us be strong for each other.

Let us climb this mountain road, Beloved of God, let us walk this straight path and together let us add to the good of our world: Honor all the lineages of human hope - working to return each and every one of our nations of the one family of the nations of Mankind to the path of peace.

Let our one Republic be a reflection of these things. Let this undertaking of Country be our great labor of hope; let this work, imperfect and difficult though it may be, be a work of life - that God's will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.

Godspeed to each and every one of us and may Almighty God bless us all from always to always.

On the Call of Citizenship

TO ALL MY FILIPINO COMPATRIOTS,
all my honored companions in God and Country,
the body politic of our faithful Republic
upon whom rests the hopes of our nation,
my Abrahamic peace be upon us all:
---<--@

A CITIZEN IS NOT A PERSON. Every one of us who can read and understand these words that I write is born a human being and must therefore be recognized as one and readily accorded the universal dignity that is proper to all human beings.

If one would apply even a few moments of one's day to consistently meditate a little deeper on our being human, one would learn to quietly and with increasing degrees of loving appreciation, constantly apprehend that our being human itself, both our body and soul together, is a gift of the one common Creator of all common creation, our one LORD.

And that in this universal gift of humanity that we are all given to share in each ourselves with one another through God, is the image and the likeness of our Creator that is indeed found and truly present in each and every one of us.

And out of the universal gift of our shared humanity, the grace of our LORD God calls each and every one of us every moment of every day to apply our near infinite human potential through our willing cooperation into paths that glorify the creative ideal that embodies the perfect magnanimity of the glorious and beneficent nature of our one and only Creator.

To the degree that we are obedient in the faith that reveals to us the path that our hearts must follow unto God by the living waters of His Word, our LORD allows us to grow in and through His grace according to the seed of the truths that our LORD have willed to entrust to us in the garden of the Eden that survives within our heart of hearts.

Now, along the way of this path, in the journey that we each must make as exile children of this world, are different awakenings - milestones, if you will, that realize in each of ourselves, an awareness; a calling towards a particular beginning which is one among the many beginnings that each of us shall surely be asked to embark upon in our encounters with our LORD before our LORD calls us to our life's completion into Himself and the golden vision of God in eternity that we shall share in holy communion with the elect of our LORD across the void of time; beyond the illusion of death which is the veil of shadow and tears that covers this exile universe with tears that keep us salty and shadow that vindicates our faith in life and the everliving God of all the living and the everliving in, with, for and through Him.

However, if we are reticent in accepting even the truth of our shared humanity and continually deny ourselves it's inherent duties common as well as individual by our relentless willful turning away from our one and only Creator, we will have come to terms not in the illusion of death and the void of exile time but in death and void itself and because of the very nature of our shared humanity, create for ourselves in spite of our good LORD and the pleading of our souls, the hellfire that awaits - an everlasting death in the grip of the everlasting crush of the fiery darkness that shall forever torment those who choose to suffer to stay in the void with Satan and his rebellion after the true purpose of exile time has been consummated.

In the depths of this hellfire, I tell you, my precious friend and companion, one shall barely be recognizable as once a human being with a soul meant to be beautiful as the holy angels of our LORD, a fate no human being of good will should ever desire for another. For to desire hellfire on another human being is contemptuous of life, judging another without hope, this is the embodiment of the hypocrisy of those who say peace but believe in war, who say they serve and defend sacred life but believe in the abomination that creates the desolation.

But before we fly off on a tangent, we shall now return our meditation on the topic at hand: One of the awakening calls which the grace of our LORD through Divine Providence shall bestow upon our hearts is the call of the state; the state which is the necessary structure of Country
that lawfully govern the synergies that animate the peace and the economies that direct the common good towards the will of the nation or "the people".

This call is the call of the citizen.

Because our citizenship call, my honorable Filipino compatriot, is a call of blood and fire, it is a sacred covenant between ourselves written not just with ink and paper but with the blood and fire of virtue and selfless service.

Therefore, this sacred covenant must be substantiated by our free and meaningful participation in our common endeavor of Country; we must in a labor of community live in exile time to harness and unite the synergy of our generations, binding us to our hopes as a nation in time and in eternity and consummating our lives in compact, one with another, as a community of the one indivisible peace, marching together across the desolation of this midnight world, under the eternal vigilance of Almighty God, towards the Last Day and the shores of forever.

Furthermore, it must also behoove us as a Republic citizen-state, my honorable compatriots, to make sure that honorary Filipino citizenship is made free and available to all those foreign born non-residents who have so honorably and willingly served this Filipino nation for more than 5 consecutive years who wish it; all those human beings who live in their hearts to be as one, true citizens of our one planetary whole, who have selflessly devoted their lives' width and breadth to share with us, the one Filipino people, the cause of our hope in God and in Country - missionaries, social workers, ambassadors, teachers of honorable religion and all persons of proven good will.

LET US THEN TAKE OWNERSHIP
of the status quo
and instead of feeding
into wars's evil ambition
the near limitless
potential of our own souls
let us apply ourselves
under the eternal vigilance
of our one Almighty God
to the labor of each Country
by our absolute turning away
from the descendant gravity
of war's evil ambition
into the ascendant direction
of the one whole peace
and build upon our civilization
the sheltering wings of
the one, indivisible peace
that prosper the life
of our shared humanity.

Who is a Filipino?

na·tion -noun - a large body of people, associated with a particular territory, that is sufficiently conscious of its unity to seek or to possess a government peculiarly its own.

state -noun - the body politic as organized for civil rule and government.

Coun·try -noun - for our intents and purposes; 1. the common endeavor of a particular people to perfect in exile time the synthesis between nation and state. 2. the Holy Grail of human civilization.
---<--@

WHO IS A FILIPINO
but the heart that truly loves the one whole nation of the Filipinos.

A heart who truly understands our nation as WE being the one whole people of the one whole social democracy represented by our one whole Philippine Republic.

A heart who willingly embraces our one whole people, from the least to the greatest.

A heart that understands the entirety of our one whole truth that our people is an unbroken lineage of sacred life extending from generation to generation unto the Last Day.

A heart that shares with our common hope, anchoring it firmly in eternity and extending it across the long march of exile time from sacred trust to sacred trust unto this present day.

A heart that joins together in the continuity of our noble endeavor of Country, Country being the synthesis of both state and nation linking every Filipino together from beautiful life to beautiful life across the vast desolation of this world of endless battle.

A heart that believes enough to journey among the numberless stars across the midnight sky to quest for a shining peace that shall take us safely across the darkness into the dawn of the new morning from on high and a better, kinder and safer time for all our men, women and children.

O my beloved nation, I can not describe to you the static face of our people but I can show you who a true Filipino is when I see his or her heart in motion.

For we must never again allow ourselves to be defined by the vanity of our external world. Thus do we finally free ourselves from the last vestiges of our martyred colonial past.

Ever since the birthing of our ancient fathers, we have always been as a people defined by what timeless virtue is contained within those infinite worlds inside each and every Filipino heart.

By thus we were recognized of old and by thus we must again be recognized the same today, tomorrow and forever.

We are a people not because of what we were in our colonial past but because of who we are as we are of old.

We are the one whole Filipino nation.

"O dear Filipino nation,
we are who we are
long have the years
kept our dear country away
through trial and sorrow,
through fear and strife
through furious battle
through bloodshed tears
how long the struggle,
we fought to remain
through every opponent,
our hope overcame
night has not claimed us,
we are the same. "

My honored Filipino nation
, a Filipino is not made up of looks, physical appearance does not make a citizen honorable; a true Filipino is all about heart and how that heart responds to the citizenship call of the one whole Filipino nation-state. It was never about what we look like but what our love looks like from the inside looking out. Our citizenship is not won by ink and paper but by fire and blood.
